What’s better than a specialty fashion boutique nestled up high in a historic mountain town? A specialty fashion boutique nestled up high in a historic mountain town carrying some of the most progressive and industry defining brands worldwide. And what’s makes better even better…er is that Kalifornia Jean Bar is a family affair describing themselves as ‘Just a family with a passion for fashion’. With brands like Golden Goose, Citizens of Humanity, Paige Denim, Frye, and Ulla Johnson and with store fronts in historic downtown Truckee, Squaw Valley, Tahoe City and North Star, let’s just say these guys are making a difference in the final eradication of Mountain cliche fashion.
Now just because the project was perfectly formulated for success with the a trifecta of premium fashion, the backdrop of Truckee California, and our own Lauren Kruse as the principal model, the shoot WAS plagued by the arrival of the King Fire which rapidly spread just southwest of Tahoe and brought heavy smoke into the valley every day. Oh, and getting rear ended on the last day of shooting just outside of Truckee didn’t help either. However, in a couple rushed but carefully planned sessions we were able to get off our first set of shots and cannot wait to get back in mid october 2014 to finish the shoot around Donner Lake and the northwest areas of Truckee.
